In conjunction with 4-H and the Future Farmers of America (FFA), the 4th Annual Shelbyville Showdown Cattle Show was hosted at the Bedford County Agriculture Center on May 16, promoting youth involvement in the community’s agriculture scene.

“Young cattle shows, along with programs like the Top Tier Points Program through the Cattlemen’s Association, encourage youth to stay involved in agriculture while rewarding hard work, dedication and sportsmanship,” said Jenny Ozburn. “Programs supported by Cattlemen’s organizations help strengthen the future of the beef industry by investing in the next generation of cattle producers and leaders.”

75 exhibitors and over 130 head of cattle came to participate in the show.

“These programs give young exhibitors goals to work toward throughout the year and help motivate them to improve their knowledge, leadership and cattle projects.”
