It was a tale of two nights for Shelbyville Central, and the response couldn’t have been louder. After suffering a lopsided run-rule loss to Tullahoma earlier in the week, the Eaglettes turned things around in a big way Thursday, rallying late to knock off Coffee County 6-4 in their most impressive win of the season.

Tullahoma – 15, Shelbyville Central – 0

Tullahoma wasted no time taking control Tuesday night, scoring early and often in a 15-0 run-rule victory over Shelbyville.

The Lady Wildcats plated six runs in the opening inning and never looked back, adding three runs in each of the next three frames to put the game away early.

Tullahoma finished with 14 hits and played clean defensively, while the Eaglettes were limited to just one hit.

Shelbyville’s lone hit came from Ja’Mya Anderson.

In the circle, Rileah Crutcher started for Shelbyville. She threw two-thirds of an inning, giving up four runs on four hits, while walking three and striking out one.

Tenley West completed the final 3.1 innings allowing 11 runs (five earned) on 10 hits with three walks and one strikeout.

 Shelbyville Central – 6, Coffee County – 4

Shelbyville broke a late tie with a three-run sixth inning Thursday night, rallying past Coffee County for a 6-4 win.

With the game even at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth, the Eaglettes came through with the decisive swings. Sydney Moore delivered the biggest blow, lining a two-run single to put Shelbyville back in front for good after Maci Lovvorn’s fielder’s choice had already brought home the tying run.

Shelbyville struck first in the opening inning when Moore doubled to drive in a run, but Coffee County answered with a four-run third to seize a 4-1 advantage.

The Eaglettes chipped away before their late surge, then finished the comeback in the sixth behind timely contact throughout the lineup.

Moore led Shelbyville offensively, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Jeheili Palacios Acuna also went 3-for-4, while Janiya Leslie added two hits in two at-bats as the Eaglettes collected 10 hits on the night.

Rileah Crutcher went the distance in the circle to earn the win, allowing seven hits and four runs — only one earned — over seven innings. She struck out two and walked three.

Shelbyville (4-17, 1-6), returns to action on Monday as they travel to Centennial. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
