Community combined a dominant pitching performance with timely hitting, defeating Summertown on Monday before rallying for a walk-off win over Eagleville the following night.

Community – 6, Summertown – 1

Community put together a complete performance Tuesday night, riding a dominant outing in the circle and timely power at the plate to a 6-1 win over Summertown.

Annie Prince was in control from the first pitch, tossing a no-hitter while striking out nine across seven innings. The right-hander worked around five walks and allowed just one unearned run, keeping Summertown off balance all night.

At the plate, Mattie Maxey provided the biggest spark for the Viqueens. The catcher went 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs, accounting for the bulk of Community’s offense and delivering the game’s biggest swings.

Community struck early with single runs in each of the first two innings before breaking things open in the third. Maxey’s bat played a key role in the surge as the Viqueens built a 5-0 cushion and never looked back.

Kailani Allen added a strong night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Ryleigh Lassiter, Gracie Daniel and Anna Prince each chipped in hits. Alana Tate also drove in a run as Community finished with seven hits.

Summertown’s lone run came in the fifth, but the Lady Eagles were held hitless throughout, with Prince working out of trouble when needed.

Community – 13, Eagleville – 12

In a back-and-forth thriller that featured multiple lead changes and plenty of late drama, Community walked it off in the bottom of the eighth to edge Eagleville 13-12 Wednesday night.

With the game tied at 12, Haylee Webb delivered the decisive blow, lining a walk-off single to seal the win and cap a high-scoring contest that saw both teams trade momentum deep into extra innings.

Community’s offense was relentless throughout, piling up 20 hits. Webb led the way with four hits, while Kailani Allen went 3-for-4 with a team-high four RBIs, including a key home run.

Annie Prince turned in one of the night’s biggest performances, blasting two home runs and driving in crucial runs to keep the Viqueens within striking distance.

Eagleville regained the lead as late as the seventh, but Prince’s second home run tied the game at 12 and set the stage for the dramatic finish.

Gracie Daniel got the start for the Viqueens, working two innings while allowing six hits and five runs (one earned) with two strikeouts and no walks.

Annie Prince handled the bulk of the middle innings, tossing three innings and surrendering four runs (two earned) on three hits while striking out six and walking four.

Kamryn Farrell got the win, as she worked the final three innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out one and issuing one walk to earn the save.

Community (17-7, 4-0), returns to action on Monday as they travel to Stewarts Creek. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 P.M.
