The Community Viqueens showed both its firepower and its toughness this week, jumping on Forrest and Page early and holding steady late to secure a pair of wins.

Community – 8, Forrest – 6

Community survived a late scare Tuesday night, building a six-run cushion before holding off a furious Forrest rally for an 8-6 win over the Lady Rockets.

The Viqueens answered an early deficit with a strong offensive night, piling up 14 hits and using a big middle innings surge to take control.

Gracie Daniel helped set the tone at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three stolen bases, while Ryleigh Lassiter also finished with three hits. Kamyrn Farrell, Haylee Webb and Anna Haskins added two hits apiece with Kailani Allen and Alana Tate each adding a single.

Forrest struck first on Lillian Miller’s two-run homer in the opening inning, but Community quickly answered. Daniel’s RBI single highlighted a three-run bottom of the first that gave the Viqueens a 3-2 lead, before another Daniel’s single pushed the advantage to 4-2 in the third.

Community stretched the margin to six runs by the fourth, but Forrest made things tense late. Miller blasted a three-run homer in the sixth as the Lady Rockets clawed back within striking distance, yet the Viqueens did enough to slam the door.

Annie Prince earned the complete-game win in the circle, allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits while striking out nine and walking three.

Community – 5,  Page – 3

Community jumped early and never gave it back Friday night, using a first-inning power burst to knock off Page 5-3.

The Viqueens wasted no time setting the tone. Kamyrn Farrell sparked the offense with an RBI double, and Mattie Maxey followed with a towering two-run homer to center, giving Community a quick 3-0 lead.

Ryleigh Lassiter added to the momentum in the second, blasting a solo home run to push the advantage to 4-0.

Community added its final run in the third when Maxey delivered again with an RBI single, finishing a strong night at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.

The Viqueens lineup stayed consistent throughout, collecting 10 hits in the win. Farrell and Lassiter each had two hits, while Anna Haskins, Haylee Webb, Kailani Allen, and Alana Tate all contributed base knocks to keep pressure on Page’s defense.

In the circle, Farrell earned the win, allowing just one run over three innings. Annie Prince closed things out, striking out six over four innings to secure the victory.

Page threatened late, scoring twice in the fourth, but Community’s early cushion proved enough as the Viqueens held on for the 5-3 win.

Community (15-7, 3-0), returns to district action on Tuesday as they travel to Summertown. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 P.M.
