Cascade is finding its rhythm at the right time. With the postseason on the horizon, the Lady Champions closed the regular season with back-to-back convincing wins — fueled by dominant pitching, timely hitting, and a lineup beginning to click from top to bottom — building momentum as they turn their focus toward the District 9-AA tournament.

Cascade – 6, Loretto – 1

Behind a dominant performance in the circle from Jocelyn Laughlin and timely production throughout the lineup, Cascade pulled away for a 6-1 win over Loretto on Wednesday.

Cascade used a steady build to take control, breaking a scoreless tie with two runs in the third before adding insurance in the fourth and putting the game away with a three-run sixth.

Laughlin set the tone from the start, delivering a complete-game performance while keeping Loretto off balance all night. The right-hander scattered five hits, allowed just one run, and struck out nine without issuing a walk in a commanding outing.

At the plate, the Lady Champions got contributions up and down the lineup. MoMo Bilbro sparked the offense, scoring twice and collecting a hit, while also delivering extra-base power with a triple. Makayla Fisher added a hit and drove in a run, and Kenzie Bledsoe chipped in with a hit and RBI. Laughlin helped her own cause offensively, driving in two runs, while Caroline Parker reached base and scored twice to keep pressure on the defense. Leah Tapp also added a hit and crossed the plate once as Cascade turned six hits into six runs with efficient situational hitting.

Cascade – 10, Moore County – 0

Cascade’s lineup came alive early and never slowed down, powering the Lady Champions to a 10-0 run-rule victory over Moore County.

The Lady Champions broke the game open with four runs in the second and four more in the third, using a balanced offensive attack to take control.

MoMo Bilbro led the way with a huge night, going 2-for-3 with a grand slam home run, double, and five RBIs while scoring three times. Alayna Cruse added a hit and scored twice, and Leah Tapp contributed a hit and an RBI. Kenzie Bledsoe, Makayla and Makenzie Fisher also added hits as Cascade finished with seven hits on the day.

Shalan Burt capped the effort in the circle with a two-hit shutout, striking out six over five innings.

Cascade (7-10, 3-4), will be the three seed for the District 9-AA softball tournament. They will travel to Summertown on Monday to face the two seed Lady Eagles. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 P.M.
